Its features include flexible payment options and digital monitoring, making it a convenient tool for drivers.

Finding and Managing Parking Sessions

The app helps users find car parks close to their intended destination. Once parked, a session can be initiated using a Start-Stop option, allowing users to pay only for the exact time parked, or by selecting a prepaid option. For prepaid sessions, users can extend their parking time directly from the app. To help manage active parking, users can set up reminders that notify them when a session is running or nearing its expiration. For frequently used car parks, the app supports saving specific locations or sessions as favourites, enabling a quick three-touch start for subsequent parking. All parking is monitored digitally, eliminating the need to display a physical ticket on the dashboard.

Payment and Account Features

ParkMate supports various payment approaches, including the use of promo codes and the purchase of Prepaid Bundles (formerly known as Multi-passes) to save on parking costs across New Zealand. The app handles low wallet balances by providing a clear prompt to top up or switch payment methods, and can automatically switch to a saved card if the wallet is nearly empty. Users can also access a Transaction History section from the main menu to track past parking sessions, including when and where they parked, and to request receipts be resent. The app’s design emphasizes contactless interactions for user safety.

Beyond individual users, ParkMate offers solutions tailored for businesses. This includes a centralized platform for managing fleet parking needs. Businesses can also set up car parks exclusively for their staff, allowing for pre-booking and occupancy viewing before arrival. Customer parking solutions are available, simplifying the process of providing parking for clients. Additionally, the app provides marketing tools, enabling customized messaging to users through EDM (Electronic Direct Mail), splash screens, push notifications, or text messages.
